Hi. I’m trying to rearrange my room so that it has better harmony. Right now I’ve cleaned it up pretty well, but I’m faced with the dilemma of where to place my bed and desk. You see, my room is very small, so I don’t have much room to move stuff about. I am now in the process of renovating my bedroom, and would like to arrange it with some basic Feng Shui tips in mind. I’ve been doing a lot of reading about the Ba-Gua template, but I’m a bit confused about how to determine east, west, north, and south.

Is the way I place my objects supposed to correspond with the cardinal directions of the world (my bedroom window is literally facing toward the west), or am I supposed to think of the entrance wall of my bedroom (where the door is), as an “imaginary south”? Should I start looking around my house for a compass?
