Advice for improving wood element in Feng Shui?

KdS asked:

I’ve had terrible relationship luck since moving into this house — within a month of moving in my boyfriend of 5 years dumped me, and in the 5 years since I have not had another boyfriend. I did some readings and it looks like the problem is partially the wood element in my bedroom is very weak (and a nice metaphor, indeed!)

Here’s the trouble. My room has a badly placed window, so almost no sunlight comes in. Any plants I bring in would need to be able to survive with no light. Also, it’s a rented house, so I can’t make any changes that can’t be undone (no painting or removing carpets.)

Also I don’t have a lot of money, I can maybe manage about $50 worth of new material. Suggestions?
I did put up nice paintings of happy couples around the “relationship” area some months ago, but it didn’t help much. The idea of putting a light in the area might be a good idea though — I tried to think of a way to add some light a while ago but it’s difficult to do without blocking my closet.

Still, like I said, I looked into what the big problem is, and it seems to be the weakness of the wood element in my bedroom. Given my color scheme of blue, gold, black and white, and my big wrought-iron bed, I’ve got all the other elements covered. I do like walnut-colored wood and have some furniture in that hue, but I hear furniture won’t usually help the wood element.

The way I treat Feng Shui is that the Relationship/Romance section of the Bagua is the top right hand corner of your home as you enter your front door. Quick, easy, cheap solutions:

~Tidy, clean, then tidy and clean again! This cannot be overstated!
~Place either a picture or photo of a happy, romantic couple or a little couple-y statue in this area (whatever room this is). Also, pairs of items are essential, such as *2* candles, *2* vases, *2* fresh flower buds – you get the idea!
~Pink and red are essential for this area. No need to paint or decorate, items such as pink cushions, pink towels, pink throws even pink socks will work here! Just get the color in.
~As sunlight is limited and you want to ‘throw some light’ on your relationship part of your life, get *2* little lights with energy saving bulbs and keep them on most of the time.

Good luck, follow these tips and love will follow…

    Hi there

Here are some sure fire ways to jazz up your love life.

First of all, you have to make your bedroom more “Yin’. If you are familiar with the concept of yin and yang, the ‘Yin’ elements represent men, brightness, activity and vitality.

Because you want to attract a male partner, you have to make your room more ‘Yin’ – by making it brighter. Use bright colors such as white, yellow, pink, red, or whatever your favorite bright colors might be.

Blacks, blues and other dark colors are not good feng shui for you especially if you are looking to find a male partner. Bring it lots of natural light to brighten up your room.

The next step is to pay close attention to is the Southwest direction of your room. I really hope that your toilet is not placed in that direction as you will be flushing all your relationship luck away!

Get a good compass and determine where your Southwest area is because the Southwest is the direction for relationship luck. The element for this sector is Earth. You can energize your relationship luck by strengthening the Earth element in this sector. Have lots of lights in this area as fire (light) produces more Earth. Also have some crystals in this area for decoration as they represent the earth element.

The right colors for the southwest are red, brown , yellow, beige, orange, and all fire and earth tones.

Avoid any metal and wood elements in the southwest because those elements destroy and exhaust the Earth energy – which will then affect your love life negatively. Make sure that there is no metal and wood decorations in the southwest, and avoid the colors white, green, and any metallic colors in this area

    Hope this helps! :)
